Berkhamsted is one of Britain's leading independent schools, built on over 450 years of history and tradition. It is a Day and Boarding School offering both single-sex (from age 11 to 16) and co-educational teaching for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 and 16 to 18.
At Berkhamsted, we aim to create an environment in which all pupils are supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our approach draws on the best of modern advances in teaching, yet we still retain traditional values and standards.
We offer small class sizes and appropriate teaching environments for each age group and have created a structure that offers the best of both co-educational and single-sex education.
Academic achievement is of great importance but we also emphasise the vital role played by other activities such as art, drama, music, outdoor adventure and sport in giving our pupils a broad educational experience.
Our website provides only a 'snapshot' of what we have to offer. We look forward to welcoming you in person, when you will be able to gain a clearer picture, not only of our impressive facilities and high standards of achievement, but also of the atmosphere that makes the School such a vibrant and stimulating community of which to be a part.
