Why Choose Berkhamsted?
CCF

Membership of the CCF is entirely voluntary but attracts a large number of students because of the range of activities offered. The primary aim of the School CCF is to get the boys and girls away from school, visiting, watching and doing as many different challenging activities as possible.

To this end we use the excellent instruction, equipment and accommodation of all three Services. We believe we offer a varied, challenging and demanding programme. Each year a large number of cadets participate in Annual Camps. Recently these have included Germany, Cyprus, Thetford Forest, RAF Brize Norton and Lyneham, and the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.

In addition to these camps the cadets are also eligible for a wide variety of courses from leadership and survival, to gaining their Private Pilot's Licences or qualifying in scuba diving. The range of courses is exceedingly varied - the Royal Navy alone offers over 200 !

Membership of the CCF involves effort and commitment and we see it as very important that each cadet fulfils their responsibilities, be it as a recruit under instruction or a cadet instructor. The opportunities for adventure and leadership provide cadets with valuable skills for adult life.
