Curriculum
Most students will undertake three or four A2 level courses after following a more broadly-based first year course of four AS subjects. We are able to offer a very wide range of courses including: English Language and Literature, English Literature, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Spanish, German, Latin, Classical Civilisation, History, Geography, Philosophy and Ethics, Economics, Government and Politics, Business Studies, Fine Art, Design and Technology, Photography, Music, Media Studies, Sociology, Physical Education, and Drama and Theatre Studies. We also ensure that students develop the key skills of communication, numeracy and information technology. All Sixth Form students follow an Enrichment Studies programme to ensure a full and broad Sixth Form education. The programme encompasses a number of components including a series of weekly lectures provide by visiting speakers.
Information and communication technology plays an expanding role in the teaching of many subjects, particularly at A level. All students will have learned to use and understand computers while in the senior schools and will be able to put this knowledge to good use when under-taking research and preparing course work. Most subject areas have their own computer resources which are supported by dedicated information technology centres at both campuses.
