(ages 3+ and 4+)
EarlyYears education for boys and girls is provided in the Stepping Stones department within the Preparatory School. Since its formation in 1991, this has been extremely successful and popular with parents wishing to give their children the continuity of high quality education from age three to eighteen. Stepping Stones continues to grow and develop as an integral part of the Preparatory School within the refurbished St. David's House, linked to the excellent facilities provided in our extensive school buildings.
There are currently two entry level classes of children aged 3+ and three classes of children aged 4+. All classes offer a happy, caring environment where children are encouraged to investigate and explore the world around them. A carefully structured curriculum encourages the development of basic skills with a broad and balanced programme oflearning and play. Literacy and numeracy are taught from the entry class onwards and scientific thinking is developed through experiment and problem solving. Children are also encouraged to express themselves through art, music and drama.
Stepping Stones received an outstanding OFSTED inspection report in June 2008.
