Record A Level Results

With a 100% A Level pass rate for the seventh year in a row and a record 85% of this year's passes at grades A or B, the Principal of Berkhamsted School, Mark Steed, is justifiably proud of his pupils and their teachers. Almost a third of the 155 pupils achieved three or more A grades.

"This is a tremendous result for Berkhamsted School and one which offers further evidence to support our belief that excellent academic results do not have to be won at the expense of the wider attributes of a good education.

"The pupils who have achieved these results contributed energetically to the life of the School, in sport, in cultural and adventurous activities and in service to the community. They will go on to enhance the very good universities to which the vast majority of them can now progress."

The Principal added: "At Berkhamsted we offer 25 A Level subjects and it is pleasing that our pupils achieved top grades across the board in both the traditional and ‘new' subjects."

A Level Results 2009:

Percentage of the 155 pupils passing three A Levels - 100%

Overall pass rate (A to B) - 85%

Overall pass rate (A to C) - 96%

Percentage of results at A grades - 52%
