Berkhamsted School established a friendship link with Sandi Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape (near Umtata), South Africa in 2004. The friendship developed in 2009 to include Ntsundwane Junior Secondary School, which is now linked with Berkhamsted Prep School.
Today is the last day of a visit by two teachers from our link schools; Mr Albert Jizana, Principal of Ntsundwane Junior Secondary School and Ms Connie Masiba, a teacher from Sandi Senior Secondary School.
The aim of the visit is to strengthen the friendship between our schools. Please visit http://www.berkhamstedsandi.com/ to find out more about the link.
On Tuesday 18 May 2010, pupils and staff of the School performed a Flashmob for Mr Jizana and Ms Masiba. The aim is to raise funds for the Berkhamsted Bursary, which provides for a pupil from Sandi School to attend university in South Africa. So far, we have enabled two pupils - Phelisa and Sivuyile - to go to university. This Appeal will help us to sponsor a third Bursary student.
You can view a slideshow of photos from the event using the link below, and a link to a video of the event will be added shortly.
