Berkhamsted Girls' cross country team to compete in nationals

After coming third overall in the recent English Schools' Regional Final of the Cross Country Cup, the Berkhamsted Girls' cross country team will compete against the best 23 teams in the country at the national Schools' Cross Country Cup Finals in Newquay on Saturday 5 December.

At the Regional Final, which was held at Barnet Copthall Athletics Stadium, the team was up against teams from Essex, Middlesex, Hertfordshire and North London, with over 70 competitors in the race. The course was a challenging 3.4km, undertaken in the most extreme weather conditions. However, this did not hamper the girls' spirit to run well! Chloe Allen, running against girls a year older came 10^th, Anne-Marie Du Preez followed closely in 11^th and Freya Burgess came 16^th, finishing the race with a sublime sprint! Ellie O'Grady finished the race in 32^nd place, Catherine Haigh in 35^th and Beth Highfield in 43^rd position.
