Berkhamsted Girls recently experienced success on the track with third places in both the 4 x 100m and 4 x 200m relays for the Girls' relay team at the Achilles Relay competition plus excellent results in the Athletics Hertfordshire Schools Combined Events Competition in Stevenage.
Achilles Relay Competition
The Achilles Relay Competition is a yearly event organised by our Principal on behalf of the Achilles Club, a club formed by past and present members of the Oxford and Cambridge Athletics Clubs. The competition was started in 1963 and attracts top athletes from around the country.
Berkhamsted girls entered the 4x100m and the 4x200m relay races. The team of Nicky Peck, Alana Zukas, Becky Golder and Helena Ellis qualified for the final of both events and, after running excellent times and breaking the school record for both the 4x100m and 4x200m, they ultimately achieved third place in both finals. This is a wonderful accomplishment - many congratulations to the four girls.
Athletics Hertfordshire Schools Combined Events Competition
