The Learning Support Department is responsible for identifying and supporting children with Specific Learning Difficulties throughout the school. Parents and teachers can request an assessment of any pupil that they have concerns about. As a result, children may be placed on the Special Needs Register and given extra support lessons.
Lessons are provided by a team of qualified specialist teachers and focus on individual needs. The lessons may include strategies to support organisation and learning as well as addressing the specific weaknesses of the individual.
In the Preparatory School, we provide some classroom support to enhance the development of literacy skills as well as providing individual lessons.
For students who have English As A Second Language, there are two qualified support teachers to provide additional lessons.
Any pupil can request additional help with revision and extra support with study skills prior to examinations at the various Key Stages.
