Berkhamsted Collegiate School was delighted to welcome Major General Simon Lalor, Assistant Chief of Defence Staff, Cadets and Reserve Forces to our CCF Annual General Inspection on Wednesday 2nd May. Major General Lalor is an Old Berkhamstedian who was a pupil at the School between 1963 and 1974.
We enjoyed a splendid display by the corps in glorious sunshine, accompanied this year by the Band of the Parachute Regiment. Many parents and visitors were present to watch the impressive parade.
Among the awards, The Pearkes Sword for the Outstanding Male Cadet was awarded to CSM Chris Rogers and The Welsh Guards Sash for the Outstanding Female Cadet to PO Claire Calderwood. The Benfield Trophy for Service to the Corps was awarded to C/Sgt Adam Nickless and The Keoghane Bayonet, for leadership, to CSgt Orla Baker. The Commanding Officer’s Trophy was present to C/Sgt Debbie Laws for exceptional support and commitment to the Corps.
During the afternoon, the Corps were inspected as they trained at Phasels Wood.
