Quite how the team failed to win a game is a mystery, though perhaps the inclement weather robbed them of a victory or two.  It is better to dwell on the finer, more subtle areas of the game, such as Lawrence Eaton's Goweresque batting: flicks, caresses and wafts abounding; and Andrew Joyce's seasoned-pro approach and his hangdog, Angus Fraser-style trudge back to his mark. Who could forget David Westley's fiercesome and unexpected six hitting or Will Jackson's experimental bowling? For the purists there was Christian King's utterly whole-hearted approach which helped to mould him into a fine cricketer, and Tom Matthews' canny spin bowling and sound cricket brain.

Others dazzled on their day, including Matt Holden and his banana swing, Will Galloway and his panther-like fielding, Mark Pollock and his bustling bowling, Joe Iddison and his professional approach and Will Budd and his devil-may-care batting. It should also be noted that the team were unlucky not to have the services of Jeremy O'Neill for almost all the season.
